Part 1 of 3. “ The learner”

“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.”
Luke 6:40 NKJV

The first step of becoming a disciple of Christ.

Be a Learner: Jesus expected his disciples to listen to him attentively, which was the basic test of faith. Jesus went further to explain the parable of the sower. “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.”
Matthew 13:19 NKJV
If you listen to, receive, and act on Jesus’s teachings, you will be like the farmer who will reap a great harvest.

Comprehending the word of God is essential when studying it so that you can teach others and multiply the disciples of Christ. Understanding the teacher is critical to being fruitful in the Kingdom of God.

As Christians, we can be ignorant in our thinking. We have been given a watered-down version of Christianity to soothe the egos of man. I had the same mindset until I realised my life was stagnant. Church was like a tick box of attendance, and even that, for me, was a chore. We must go deeper into the things of Christ and actively study the blueprint of Jesus, a cheat sheet, if you will. The answers to the test are all in the word. We make discipleship sound so tedious. However, it is all about simplicity and purity. Take some time out today and meditate on whether you meet the requirements of discipleship. If not, there is no time like today. Next week, we will move on to step 2, which will be about “ the follower.”
Have a beautiful week ahead.

Testimony tabernacle, encountering Jesus
Living in testimonies

Prayer:
Father, we thank you for allowing us to share the ministry of your Son, Jesus. Send your Holy Spirit to create in me the ability to be eager, dedicated, disciplined, and attentive. Lord, teach me how to listen, love, and share the precious gift of salvation with everybody we meet so that we can be easily identified as disciples of Christ. All children must resemble their Father, and our Father is Christ.
Amen
